Additional Information

Use this information when declaring column types with the CREATE TABLE statement or casting values to new data_types for use in functions or output.

  • Convert values to the same type with the CAST function.

  • Allows time formats compliant with the java.sql.Timstamp method. The following formats are explicitly supported.

    • yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss[.nnnnnnnnn]

    • yyyy-mm-dd-hh.mm.ss[.nnnnnnnnn]

  • Year values must be four digits.

  • Month, day, and hour values can be one digit or two

  • Minute and second values must be two digits.

  • Nanosecond values can be between one and nine digits, inclusive.
