Associates an existing Cirro user (created with CREATE USER) with an existing account on the federated system.

Syntax

ADD AUTHORIZATION TO remoteSystemName [ FOR userToAuthorize ] OPTIONS ( USERNAME 'remoteSystemUsername', PASSWORD 'remoteSystemPassword' );

Arguments

  • remoteSystemName: The remote system where userToAuthorize has authorization.

  • userToAuthorize: An optional username for an existing Cirro user. If userToAuthorize is not provided, the current session user is default.

  • remoteSystemUsername: The username on remoteSystemName.

  • remoteSystemPassword: The password on remoteSystemName.

Additional Information

  • ADD AUTHORIZATION can be executed multiple times for each userToAuthorize, so that a single Cirro user can be authorized for multiple federated systems.

  • When a new Cirro user is created, also add authorization to the new user for both the CIRRO and CIRROHUB remoteSystemName systems.

  • You can substitute “Validate” for “Add” if desired. The functionality works the same regardless.

Examples

ADD AUTHORIZATION TO CIRRO FOR jcb OPTIONS (USERNAME 'root', PASSWORD 'password');

ADD AUTHORIZATION TO CIRROHUB FOR jcb  OPTIONS (USERNAME 'root', PASSWORD 'password');
